About the Artists

"Sunrise and Hope" — Oil on Canvas
Hillary Hostetler has been drawing and painting since childhood, when she discovered the awesome effect crayons can make on a clean white wall. Many walls and years later, her parents got rid of her (college), and she graduated with honors from FIT in NYC.

A stressful and exciting design career in the Big Apple followed, all the while attending more painting classes at Art Students League, Silvermine Art Guild, Westchester Art Workshop, Katonah School of Art, and many other art workshops both local and international.

"Maple and Fir" — Oil on Canvas

She now lives by the Hudson River with her dogs and kids. Best of all, she is finally oil painting full time, in a personal combination of impressionist, expressionist, and illuminist styles. She has won honors and participated in art shows such as Artists of Northern Westchester, Two Days in September at Weir Farm in Connecticut, Local Color exhibiting with Croton Council on the Arts, and others. Her work in featured in many private and public collections.

Hilllary is a proud member of, New York Plein Air Painters, The Holiday Art and Craft Guild, Croton Council on the Arts, Lower Hudson Valley Plein Air Painters and is on the planning board of Riverfest-A Celebration of the Hudson River.

She is delighted to share the beauty of painting the effect of light on the landscape and everyday objects with you. Her hope is to communicate a feeling of peace, joy and tranquility thru color and form.

"Barns at Muscoot" — Oil on Linen
Will Kefauver — His first love is the landscape and the colors and shapes defined by the changing light. Of particular fascination is the abstraction found in nature — whether in the forms of clouds doused by light or the interwoven branches of barren trees.

He studied at Whittier College and the Katonah Arts Center and has both studied and been an instructor at the School of Visual Arts. Among the artists who’ve influenced him most significantly, Will cites Corot for his use of atmospheric perspective, Frank Benson for the energy of his composition and Wolf Kahn, who can find color anywhere.

Kefauver’s work has been selected for appearance in juried shows across the country. He has received awards from the National Society of Artists, the Lake Wales Arts Council, the Art Director’s Club, the American Institute of Graphic Arts and The One Show. He is an elected artist of the Kent Art Association and serves on their Board of Directors and is a Signature Member of the National Society of Artists.

Will can often be found in a field or on a hilltop — painting in oils, en plein air. His work depicts the moods of the landscapes of New York and New England, from the apple trees of a Westchester orchard to the beaches of Martha’s Vineyard.
